London-listed investor Agronomics' biggest holding, Liberation Bioindustries, needs another $25m to finish a US protein fermentation plant, after failing to secure a buyer.
The shortfall follows two years of falling net asset value at Agronomics, including one full write-off, per company filings.
"There's not much we can do about that, but accept, wait, hold, be patient and deliver and produce some exits for investors," Jim Mellon, the billionaire chair of Agronomics, told Impact Loop in June about its discounted share price.
