Defence markets can play a significant role in nurturing climate and deep tech startups – even when the technology was never built for the battlefield, according to two prominent investors.

"At the moment we see a big opportunity," Johannes von Borries, managing partner at UVC Partners, said at an Impact Loop meet-up in Stockholm yesterday.


Booming defence tech spending is creating an incubator for climate and deep tech startups, two prominent investors in the space.

"As a beginning market, the innovation phase where they want to be fast, it [defense] could be a very good entry market for these companies," Johannes von Borries, managing partner at Germany's UVC Partners, told an audience a Impact Loop meet-up in Stockholm yesterday.
