China 'very likely' using imported clean tech to spy on Europe, report warns

Europe's dependence on Chinese green technology creates security risks that are poorly understood and largely unaddressed, according to a new high-level report.

China is "very likely" already using green technology imported into Europe to conduct surveillance, according to a report commissioned by Loom, a non-profit organisation focused on European security.

The report cites examples including the use of offshore energy infrastructure to track submarine movements, as well as audio and video data captured by Chinese electric vehicles operating on European roads.
