A Dutch startup has raised its first major equity round to grow premium timber from tree stem cells in bioreactors – no logging, no sawing, no planting.
The company is targeting luxury wood markets first, with ambitions to reshape how the world sources one of its oldest materials.
"As far as we can see, cultured wood is the only way forward," co-founder and CEO Tom Clement tells Impact Loop.
