Europe's fusion energy founders are leveraging momentum from the Iran oil crisis to push for a concrete EU strategy on fusion energy.

We spoke to three execs to discuss the open letter, competition from the East and West, and what Europe needs to do to win the fusion race.

"We can take a leading position on fusion," Peter Roos, CEO Novatron Fusion, tells Impact Loop.

The promise of harnessing the same reaction that powers the Sun to power homes and industry has long captured the human imagination. Now, that promise is edging into reality, as fusion energy startups across the globe race to commercialise a technology that has the potential to provide virtually limitless, clean energy.

In Europe, fusion research has deep roots. The continent is home to some of the most advanced fusion energy projects, top talent, and a rising pool of startups targeting commercial deployment.
