Scoop: Bill Gates-backed geothermal energy startup hits the brakes – founder steps down

Baseload Capital, a geothermal firm backed by Bill Gates and with agreements with the likes of Google, has grown rapidly since its founding in 2018.

But now the Swedish company is hitting the brakes. The team is being reduced, the strategy is being overhauled, and CEO Alexander Helling is being replaced.

"This applies until further notice," says chairman Magnus Brandberg.
