Impact job shifts and a closed innovation hub: What’s going on at H&M?

The Swedish fashion giant H&M has shouted loudly about its sustainability strategy in recent years, but the firm has quietly closed down its innovation hub and cut climate roles from its leadership.

H&M has discreetly shut down its innovation hub The Laboratory in Stockholm, which the company previously argued was “steering H&M Group’s sustainable future”.

Last week Swedish news site DI broke the news that Alexandra Frid Razola, who led the hub, had her last day at H&M at the end of 2024. She has since taken on a new role at European transport giant Scania.
