Impact VC drops climate label – becomes 'earth tech' firm instead

While some investors are dropping the climate label to distance themselves from sustainability, others are dropping it to go deeper in.

Venture capital firm Satgana has just rebranded itself as 'Earth Tech' – with a new thesis to match.

"We're looking to take a more holistic approach," Romain Diaz, founding partner at Satgana, tells Impact Loop.

It is no secret that in the last couple of years, the term "climate" has fallen out of favour in venture capital.

However, while some firms have dropped the label to signal a pivot away from impact investing altogether, others have done so for the opposite reason.
