The Irish Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (IVCA) is lobbying the government to set up a €1bn fund-of-funds pooling pension and institutional money to Irish venture.
The push comes after VC investment into Irish startups fell almost 60% in the first quarter of 2026. For climate and impact companies, the capital drought is even more severe.
Sarah-Jane Larkin, director general of the IVCA, tells Impact Loop that discussions for the fund are already "well underway" but "really need to be accelerated."
