In 2024, Morrow Batteries opened Europe's first gigawatt-scale lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery factory in Arendal, Norway.

Now, the company has collapsed after failing to secure a new industrial investor, as European battery makers continue to struggle to compete on cost.

Another European battery startup has gone under.

Morrow Batteries, a Norwegian manufacturer of lithium iron phosphate battery cells, filed for bankruptcy on 6 May after its board concluded it could no longer sustain operations.
