Poland's Montis VC has marked the first close of its debut fund at €50m.

Following the appointment of its new director, Michal Bas, the fund is now looking to write over 20 cheques for energy and industrial startups across Europe.

"We're at a moment where Europe is fighting for its economic sovereignty," Bas tells Impact Loop.

Montis VC has raised €50m in the first close of a new venture fund aimed at backing startups in energy and industrial technology, as investors across Europe ramp up support for sectors tied to economic resilience.
