'The tourists are gone': Climentum hits €60m first close with an unlikely new LP on board

Climentum Capital has reached the €60m first close of its second climate ‘hard tech’ fund, with backing from an organisation that rarely invests in venture.

The close comes as many generalist funds depart the climate investing space, leaving plenty of dealflow for those whom remain.

"It's a great time to have dry powder in this space. It doesn't get much better," general partner Stefan Mård tells Impact Loop.

Copenhagen-based Climentum Capital has reached a €60m first close for its second fund despite a tough fundraising market.

The Article 9 vehicle will back early-stage climate “hard tech” startups across Europe, with a focus on the Nordics and Germany. The firm is targeting a final close of €100m next year.
