Tavion, a Swedish battery startup founded by former Northvolt exec Emad Zand, has raised €50m from high-profile investors just months after exiting stealth.
The cash, which also consists of a debt portion, will be used to build battery parks in Poland.
"Going into Poland is also a huge triple bottom line play," Zand told Impact Loop when the company first launched. "You're breaking new ground. You're in a profitable niche, but you're also doing really important work to decarbonise one of the dirtiest grids in Europe."
