Urban-focused VC 2150 raises nearly €200m for fund aimed at creating greener cities
Urban-focused venture capital firm 2150 has raised nearly €200m for its second fund aimed at revolutionising how cities operate and reducing their environmental impact.<br><br>The VC firm, with offices in London, Oslo, Berlin and Copenhagen, specifically targets what it calls the "urban stack" – the full spectrum of technologies needed to make cities more sustainable and efficient.
2150's second fund has now raised €197m and 2150 says “more is on the way” thanks the institutional investors including Augustinus Fonden, Novo Holdings and Carbon Equity.

“While our core focus remains on Series A, our initial check size range continues to be €3-15m to help impactful technologies scale with a healthy reserve ratio to continue backing our founders,” 2150 says on LinkedIn.
The firm says the aim is to build a portfolio of around 20 companies across Europe and North America.
Three investments have already been made: in Cologne-based metal recycling marketplace Metycle, London-based carbon capture company Mission Zero Technologies, and US industrial heat pump developer AtmosZero.
2150 is part of investment firm Urban Partners, and has a stated aim of creating what it calls “Gigacorns” – companies “have the potential to benefit billions of people, create billions in commercial value and lower gigatons of emissions.”
